Sigrah receives a courtesy visit by His Excellency Kanbar Hossein – Bo of the Great Britain High Commission in Suva, Fiji, marking the first official meeting between the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom of Great Britain to the FSM and Ambassador Carson K. The meeting was an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties since the establishment of official diplomatic ties in August 1992 and revisit development priority areas for both governments, enhancing a 33-year friendship.
The discussion was centered around climate change initiatives and the impacts of sea-level rise in the FSM. High Commissioner Kanbar Hossein – Bo expressed his remorse that he is deferring the trip to the FSM for a later date, but that he looks forward to working closely with the FSM on key areas of interest for development.
In this manner, the Ambassador Carson K. Sigrah expressed appreciation to High Commissioner Kanbar Hossein – Bo’s visit and advised Mr. Kanbar of the recent development priority areas in the FSM, reaffirming FSM’s appreciation toward the government of Great Britain for its continued assistance through the regional and international agencies of which the FSM government has benefited over the years. Through collaborative efforts, Ambassador Sigrah confirmed the need for a consolidated and more forward-looking consultation between both Missions in identifying relevant areas of cooperation, and acknowledged deferment of His Excellency’s visit to the FSM.
