To honor the sacrifices and commitments afforded to the country’s nation building in self- determination and governance, Ambassador Carson K. SIGRAH and Madam Sigrah hosted a diplomatic reception, commemorating the 38th Anniversay for FSM Independence Day on November 22, 2024 at the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat.
Making it a memorable evening to FSM citizens in Fiji, the event was attended by government representatives, members of the Diplomatic Corps, CROP agencies, country representatives for the Forum Sub-Comittee for Regional Security (FSRS), and FSM community in Fiji, highliting FSM’s strong stance toward the Blue Pacific.
On this ceremonial occasion, Ambassador Sigrah delivered a strong statement, recognizing FSM’s proud history and firm stance toward shared values of four states with distinct cultures and peoples- as a reminder of the nation’s forged unification by its founding fathers and an existing emblem of its proud heritage, and interdependent society that is prone to withstand challenges when united.
In this spirit, Ambassador asserted similar concept toward regionalism, highlighting the importance of true statesman in the Pacific. In this context, Ambassador expressed similar sentiments toward Director James Movick as a tribute for his unwavering commitment to the Blue Pacific since taking up the post in Vanuatu, as the Director for the Pacific Fusion Center.
Ambassador further concluded, “We thank you for your service and bid you farewell as you embark on the next chapter, God bless you.”
